Well, Beth has done a tremendous job setting up the blog! I figured I'd chime in from time to time to give comments from a new dad's perspective. This is the first...
The entire experience has been absolutely surreal. In an instant, your outlook on life changes. This was true when we first discovered the news, but continues to solidify as the weeks pass by. When you get married, you turn your attention to your spouse and essentially serve that person as best you can. You think it couldn't get more selfless than accepting the responsibility of taking care of your spouse until one of the two of you passes away. You think love reaches its pinnacle at that point. It doesn't. I'm beginning to grasp what my parents meant when they said I'd never understand until I had my own. It's true - that concept is starting to take shape...
I have been most impacted by the ultrasounds. Although I realized what was happening from the beginning, I think I actually fell in love when I saw two heartbeats during the first ultrasound. No doubt, it choked me up. And as the weeks have passed, the physical bodies of the little ones have become so familiar looking. At some point you realize that there are two humans growing inside your wife! The last ultrasound was amazing. As you've seen by the pictures - head, body, and limbs are intact. Wow!
I am amazed as I watch Beth's body change. Each day the babies grow and, in turn, she does as well! I find myself wondering how her little body is going to accommodate two babies in the long run. How can the body transform in this way? There's something about it that's so beautiful. It seems odd and somewhat unfair that I don't have to go through any physical changes. Physically, it's completely her burden. I'm excited to be by her side while she endures it.
All for now. Please continue to pray for the safety and health of Beth and babies!
~ Chris

Chris, Chris, Chris...after the next 6 months of pregnancy and then the amazing delivery, you won't ever again think that the men are physically dominant! :) Ok, so maybe you all can lift and bench press more, but seriously...it's amazing what Beth is doing...just amazing!
Chris,,wonderful job on adding your thoughts to this Blog.. I thought you might make some waves with your men dominant comment!! I also wonder how this little girl of ours can manage to deliver these two little angels, but God would not have put them there if he didn't think Beth could do the job. God bless you Dad and your little wife and your two new children..

Chris~How proud Dad and I are of you and Beth. We love you both so very much and we know that God will keep the little angels safe and give Beth all the strength and courage she needs. From the moment Chris said to us, "I met this girl" and the look he had in his eyes, we knew he was in love forever with the most wonderful girl in the world. Chris, you are a wonderful father...as you have already fathered two precious angels...and being there for Beth in every possible way is what your responsibility is at this time.
Know that we love you with all our heart and soul...and Beth...and the babies.
Love, Mom and Dad H.
