Ethan and Grayson have completely and totally captivated every part of us. I have never experienced such intense emotion like this before. I never expected that I would feel this way. There are no words - that is true. It is such a deep, pure, unexplainable, crazy love.
When I look at their perfect little faces, when their eyes open and look into mine, when I have my hand on the small of their back and feel them breathe, when I trace their perfect faces with my finger, when I stroke their dark hair, when I wrap their tiny hand around my finger...I am content and whole.
I am a mother.
I want to apologize that there are so many of you that we haven't been able to talk to, visit with, e-mail back, etc. Every ounce of our strength, time, and energy is going towards two small little boys occupying two beds in the N.I.C.U. right now.
Life has done a total 180 for us in the past week and we are still trying to adjust to it all. I am also trying to still recover from the birthing adventure a week ago tomorrow (wow!), and so I am trying to get as much as rest as possible when we are home.
We certainly don't mind phone calls and emails though. There is no guarantee that we will be home, because it seems that for most of the hours of the day we are not - but your words of encouragement and thoughtfulness mean so much to us and help us through this time.
We will be in touch when we can be. The boys are doing really well and continuing to make such huge improvements day by day.
Please continue to pray for them as they continue to grow and mature until the day that we can come home as a family of 4.

Welcome to the rest of your life :) Though it will continue to be hard it is so so so worth it!
Good for you for taking care of yourself!
Glad to hear the little ones are doing well.
what a good mama you are! You keep on focusing on those boys and yourself, Betty. Thats whats most important right now.
So awesome that they are improving so much! Just awesome. Before you know it they are going to be home and your quiet house is going to be quite the happening place! :)
We love you and are praying peace and strength for you,as I know how hard it is for a mama's heart to have to go home at the end of the night. Love and peace to you, my sweet friend!
Beth I'm so excited for you! Don't you worry about a darn thing besides those boys and taking care of yourself. I pray peace and rest and joy for you this very special Christmas week! You are one blessed Momma...I love you!
Beth--we are back home, but we left our hearts out there with you and Chris and those special Grandsons of ours. WE love you all and will be with you again soon
Love Dad
You don't have to apologize for being out of touch. We know what it's like when you have a baby and that it's your WHOLE world at the beginning (and then some). Praying that you have a peaceful, restful Christmas now that the 2 best presents you could ever want are here!
Welcome to Motherhood!
I agree, don't worry a bit about anyone else, those little boys need you. Amazing to read your words and think -- wow, that's how God describes us as his children. Puts a whole new dimension on it, doesn't it??
Isn't it amazing? Isn't it just amazing???
Take your time...enjoy the boys...rest...you're doing all the right stuff! :)
I can tell you are completely in love with your little ones. I knew you would be. I'm glad they are growing stronger with each day. Please take time each day to rest and take care of yourself too. You need your strength for them! Miss you, am thinking of you, and hope to talk to you soon.
Must.have.pictures. :)
Rumor has it I could travel a few miles and crash someone's house.
Just to get a fix.
Thinking of you four and praying for you all...especially that you will all be home much sooner than expected and together!! :)
Enjoy EVERY moment with those two boys - we can all wait!

Peace and tranquility! Taking care of yourself is a priority. Your special time to rest, to provide those healing touches to your sons and bonding with them...that is what is important now. When Dad and I see you two with your little ones, it fills our hearts with the greatest love and appreciation of your intellect, your faith, your profound love and commitment to your sons and your excellent judgment during this critical time in the lives of your little ones. This is a time of healing, bonding, nurturing, loving, resting, warmth, and the creation of this beautiful family. Take your time...enjoy and savor each and every moment, be with your boys as much as you can, be good to yourselves because your good health will be good for the boys.
Love, Mom H.
