In the summer of 2007 one of my dearest friends, Dana, was expecting her first child. We spent many afternoons by the pool that summer just waiting for the arrival of their new daughter Makayla. One day, towards the end of her pregnancy, I asked Dana to take this beautiful belly shot with me. She's always loved it. :)

She always vowed that when I was pregnant she wanted to do a belly shot with me. So the other night we took one.

Dana is now expecting her second child...so expect another comparison in a few months when hopefully my baby belly will be gone! :)
I also want to mention here that Dana came over to add some Christmas cheer to our house. Chris and I decided that with all else going on we weren't going to pull out our tubs and decorate this year. It seemed a little bleak around our home and didn't feel like Christmas at all - so Dana offered to come over and put up a tree for us! Isn't she something?

She even put up a second little tree just for the boys! It has two picture frame ornaments with their beautiful little faces just smiling away!

Oh, you gave me fair warning, but I had forgotten just how big I was during the summer of '07. Just to be fair, that was less than a week before D-Day! :) And on that second one...I'm about 13 weeks pregnant. We didn't get the picture I was truly hoping for...when I had a non-pregnant belly. Why is it that I have pregnant bellies in BOTH shots?! Oh, Beth...you're too much! I love the shots! Thanks for sharing. I do love the trees...that dear friend of yours must be something!!!
HILARIOUS! I will never take another belly shot again, Beth....you made me do this once too! I think you just like to collect these pictures and hold it over our heads to use when we least expect it! :)
Dana is something...what a great thing to do. You really needed the spirit to get you ready for the best presents of all. Like I said...I know when they are coming...just wait and see!!!
I sure do miss seeing you, but am terribly grateful for this blog. You are on the downhill stretch girlfriend!
What great pictures!!! Sure is amazing what the body can do isn't it???
Dana, you are such a dear for decorating for Beth. Very beautiful!!!
Love, mom B
Wow! You two are something. Sweet as can be:) Congratulations to you Dana and to Seth and to little Makayla. Beth, you and Dana will have your own natural day care going on:) It won't be long Beth. You have done a great job and when I think of how far you have come since April it just makes me speechless. Love to all of you,
Mom H.
Wow! There's quite a difference between those two pics. You look great in both of them, though. I wish I had looked half as good as you with my single baby belly!
Hey Beth,
You two are something else!!! I can't wait to see all of the bundles of joy you are both putting together now...you and Dana!!! Life is so crazy! You two are wonderful friends and I am blessed to have you both in my life :)
Love, Mary
Unbelievable! I do believe she has you beat Dana! (But then, there's two reasons that she does!!)
All amazing! Thanks so much for sharing both thoughts and pictures. It makes it easy to feel close even when I'm on the other side of the country!
What a sweet and thoughtful person you are Dana to bring those lovely Christmas trees to Beth and Chris. You are so precious. This is truly a time of anticipation...just as this Advent season is a time of waiting for the birth of our Lord. How blessed we are to be able to share both of these experiences at once.
Love and blessings,
Mom H.
Hilarious!
Thanks for sharing your pics in your week 32 post, too. You're keeping it real, and I admire that. I marvel at the ability of the human body to stretch SO MUCH to accommodate a baby (or two), and then bounce back to its (approximately) original shape. Amazing! :)
Happy 33 weeks! Bet you weren't sure a while back you'd even see 33 weeks! But, the longer they stay in... the sooner they will go home with you. Your days are in the 40's and that is for FULL TERM! Unbelievable huh! You are the queen of bedrest!
The pictures are great. Both you AND Dana make me sick. You look too good both preggo and not. And Dana? From someone who was pregnant in the summer with a girl. PFFFFTTT!!!!! You look too stinking good in a maternity bathing suit! Hang in there girl! We miss you every day!
