Michael and Hayley came out to visit us Saturday, May 24th. We arrived home around 12:30 a.m. after a show in Charlotesville with Mike and Allyson. Mike and Hayley were here and we visited with them for a few minutes before we retired off to bed.
The next morning we woke up and Chris I both turned to eachother and said "Should we tell them??" We were about to bust! Our plan was to tell our parents first - but having them here just made us share the news!
We made a nice breakfast and went out to the porch to eat it. We were sitting there eating our breakfast casserole and I said the following to them:
Me: You all should come back in January. It's a really special time of year.
Michael: Oh really? What's so special about it.
Me: Oh, it's just a really special time - especially the end of January.
Michael: Is it some kind of festival or something?
Chris: You may not get a lot of sleep when you come out though.
Michael: Why wouldn't we get a lot of sleep?
Me: Because.... (smile creeping across my face...hands begin to tremble!!!) I'll be feeding a baby.
Hayley, who had been sitting quietly just staring at me through this entire conversation (becuase she said she had thought this right away) jumped up and almost choked on her breakfast.
Michael: What?? What?? Oh Beth!
All 4 of us jumped to our feet and the tears started as we exhanged hugs. My hands were just trembling with excitement as I was able to share this news.
Amazing - amazing weekend. Awesome time talking with the two of them about our future and our plans.
Today they held hands with me in my classroom and prayed over this precious life inside of me. They prayed for health, for peace and comfort for me, and just for the entire will and plans that God has ordained for this precious life.
